David graduated in 2002 from The University of Edinburgh with a degree in Mechanical Engineering with Management Techniques and is currently studying for his Ph.D.. Previous work undertaken includes critical analysis of CAD and FEA packages whilst his current area of research is producing an accurate three-dimensional computer simulation of the AM process with the aim of being able to accurately predict tool-piece designs that will produce a required final workpiece profile.
